Hi Gary,
Yesterday I discovered that my fourth great-grandmother was named Belinda MAXON,
and today I discovered your site. Very happy to find you!
I wonder if anybody can help me find out more about Belinda MAXON. What I know
is, she was born abt 1817 in Ohio. She married Arthur Thornton and they had a
daughter, Marian, in Ohio in 1834. Then they moved to
Illinois, where they had three more children: John Thomas (my third
great-grandfather) in 1835, David around 1836 and Nathan around 1840. This
information is from the 1850 IL census in Kane County, Aurora Twp.
I would love to hear from anyone with information about Belinda, or hints about
where to look next. Please post this on your website or anywhere else you see
fit, and thank you for your help.

I am searching for information on an Edie (Eda) Maxson who married Alexander
Batson Emerson, probably in Lewis Co., WV. She died 30 Aug 1920 at Jane Lew,
Lewis Co., WV. Alexander was born 15 May 1854 in Augusta Co., VA, and the
Emerson family moved to West Va sometime prior to 1868. I have located an Eda
Maxson, dau. of Thomas A. Maxson and Mary Ann Williams, born about 1863 in
Lewis or Harrison Co., WV, and since the birth dates correspoond (1854and
1863) this is the only possible connection I can find.
Am wondering if anyone in the Maxson family would have information on the
Lewis/Harrison Co. branch of the family.
Hope you can post this to the web site for me.

I have been trying to find a source record for the birth of
Susanna Maxson b 20 Jan 1980 in Hopkinton RI. I went down to Hopkinton RI to
try to find it in the vital records but all they had was the "Arnold Index"
for Hopkinton and she was not listed. All the information on your web page
appears to be correct as for her marriage to John Peabody and 2nd marriage to
Lewis Chapman and all of her children for both
marriages. I went to Salem, CT yesterday to try to see if there was any
information in the vital records and I did find her death recorded on page 92
and 93 of the Salem Vital Records Vol 2. The death was
recorded as "Mrs. Chapman d. 8 nov 1865 age 85 yrs." No further information
was recorded as to the parents or exact date of birth. The entry was the last
one on the page and was faded very bad. The town
clerk did her best to try to make a copy of the entry but it is hardly
readable. Barbour never recorded it in the Salem Vital Records he did for the
town. The marriage of Susanna Maxson and John Peabody is recorded in the
vital records of Stonington but it just said they were married by a JP. It
doesn't give the ages of either or the parents. I was wondering if there was
any source either printed in a biography or vital
record that you know of that lists the actual birth date and parents of
Susanna Maxson? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks,

I have a Thomas Harvey in Petersburg,
New York m. Lois Stillman about 1795.
They had a son named Asa Maxon Harvey
b. abt 1797 who m. Betsy Steward(t) in
1821 in Petersburg, N.Y. I am
aware that the Stillmans and Maxons of
Rhode Island were very intertwined.
Lois Stillman was born about 1778 and
died 20 Jul 1819. She married
Thomas Harvey who lived in Petersburg.
This Lois' date of death is just
a year before Lois Stillman b. 1756
who died 18 Sept 1820, also in
Petersburgh. This
Lois Stillman married Asa I. Maxon and
her mother was Mary Polly Maxon all of
R.I. I have been
wondering if my Lois Stillman was
related to the Maxons of R.I. but so
far I don't find her in R.I. (There
is another Lois Stillman b. 7 Sep 1773
who m. Daniel Edwards and I have ruled
this Lois out. )
If someone knows of a connection
to the Maxons, of the Lois Stillman b.
1778, I would appreciate hearing
from them. The fact that Lois
Stillman and Thomas Harvey named
their son Asa Maxon Harvey leaves me
hoping I have finally found another
piece to this Harvey puzzel.
Thank you.
