"Alexander Maxson, 81 years old, a former resident of Brimson, Died Saturday afternoon at the home of his son, William Maxson, near Arnold, Nebraska, according to word received by relatives in Trenton. Mr. Maxson fell about seven weeks ago and broke his hip, and complications which later developed resulted in his death. He was believed to be improving lately and his children who had been at his bedside had returned to their homes. His condition took a sudden turn for the worse last Tuesday, and he sank rapidly from that time until the end. The body will be brought to Trenton Tuesday, on Rock Island train No. 30 and taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Albert Obert, 510 West 12th St. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Salem Baptist
church, conducted by the Rev. C. E. Sharrah, of Chillicothe, assisted by Dr. J. C. Greenoe, pastor of the Trenton Baptist church. Mr. Maxson was born June 22, 1851 in Lewis Co., Virginia. He moved to Missouri with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Maxson when a small child and settled on a farm in the Forks of the River neighborhood near Brimson, where he lived for several years, later moving to Brimson, where he engaged in the mercantile business. He retired from active work about 20 years ago. The deceased is survived by four sons and four daughters. They are Emmett Maxson, Trenton; Charles Maxson, Lincoln, Neb.; Wm. Maxson, Arnold, Neb.; Earl Maxson, Brimson; Mrs. Albert Oberg, Trenton; Mrs. W. E. Marlin, Trenton; Mrs. Chas. Rutherford, Trenton; And Mrs. George Scott, Arnold, Neb. He also leaves several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His wife and two daughters preceded him in death. Mr. Maxson was a member of the Baptist church and was a deacon in the church at Brimson during his residence there."
